Mind, Body and Clothes!
Rosie PlattsSo you’ve made up your mind to be kind to your body and get fit and healthy, and now you’re starting to see the results.
Did you know that the right clothes, accessories, hair and makeup also make you feel better as well as look fantastic? That they can give the effect of a slimmer body too?
You have unique skin and eye colouring, which means you’ll look glowing and healthy in some colours whilst others will have the opposite effect. When you wear the right colours for you, people will remark on how well you look – and that will boost your sense of well-being, believe me!
You have a unique body shape too. This is your framework and you can be true to it and flatter it – you just need to know how.
In fact you’re totally unique - Personality, Framework and Colouring – this is the essence of who you are, which means some clothes are absolutely ‘you’ while others are absolutely not!!
It’s a bit like putting modern alloy wheels that are designed for a Ferrari on a vintage Rolls Royce – it would look ‘wrong’, and detract from the beauty of the Rolls. Some of us are Ferraris and some of us are Rolls Royces, Minis, Beetles, Jeeps and so on. If you had to be a car, which one would you be? What would your best friend be?
To put this in clothes terms, take a jacket. Let’s have a look at some of the variables available:
1. colour
2. fabric – textured, smooth, stiff, flowing
3. length
4. lapel shape or even no lapel
5. belt or no belt
6. straight or tailored
7. fastening type and size
8. cuffs
9. rear vent
10. placement of detail
I could go on, but I think this is enough to illustrate the point. Which jacket characteristics will make you look fantastic and which will look like you borrowed it or wore it as a bet!
Clothes, accessories, hair and makeup all play an important part in enhancing you, and in the way you feel – getting it right is the difference between feeling like strutting your stuff or staying in the shadows.
Once you know the golden rules as they apply to you, shopping and dressing are so much more fun, more successful, and of course less expensive and less time-consuming.
Find out your best colours and styles and make shopping and getting dressed in the morning a pleasure.
