Stretching
One very important training component that is often neglected in many workout regimes is proper warming up and stretching techniques. Before you start your workout routine, be it a weight-training or cardio workout, it is recommended that you do a light 5 to 10 minute warm up on the treadmill or stationary bike. Once your muscles are warm, prepare them further by stretching them.
Stretching is a great way to prepare the muscles for a workout and also to help cool them down after a workout. Many experts recommend stretching before, during and after your workout session for best results.
Stretching helps to loosen the muscles and get them warm after exercise.
It is vitally important to stretch your muscles to prevent any injury or muscle damage. Stretching can also help you improve circulation, improve mental alertness, increase flexibility and also help to alleviate back pains and muscle strains.
If your level of flexibility is limited at first, don’t let this trouble you as consistent practice will help you build your flexibility levels in no time at all. When performing a stretch, try to hold each stretch for a minimum of 15 seconds without bouncing.
