What does it do?

Silicon promotes firmness and strength in the tissues. It helps maintain the elasticity of the skin and is considered an anti-aging nutrient. It promotes strength in the hair, skin and nails.

Low physical endurance, sagging skin, dull hair and brittle nails.

Food Sources of Silicon

Silicon is widely available in food. It is found in high amounts in the hulls of wheat, oats and rice, in sugar beet and cane pulp, in alfalfa and in the herbs horsetail, comfrey and nettles. It is also present in lettuce, cucumbers, avocados, strawberries, onions, dandelions and other dark greens.

This mineral is easily lost in food processing.

Best Supplement

To get your silicon needs met, eat more whole grains and fresh vegetables or use herbs such as horsetail or alfalfa or comfrey tablets.
